About

​Heather Young is a designer and educator based in Vancouver BC.  She completed a Masters of Design in Fashion and Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art and received a Fashion Design Degree from Lasalle College in Montreal.  Her practice includes material and craft history, regional processes, sustainability, and building community through craft.  Areas of research encompass design process, product design, clothing and textiles.  She is an assistant professor at Emily Carr University of Art and Design (Industrial Design)  in Vancouver, Canada. Sometimes she works in theatre costume and set design.
​Her highly regarded DUST clothing label was sold internationally.
